STUDENT FAQ
You will receive a full-time higher education. Upon graduation, you will receive a state diploma with a supplement in English, like all HSE graduates.
Russian Federation citizens: from 1 April 2023, general admission to all full-time online Master of Data Science programmes will start. Recruitment for full-time online bachelor’s programmes starts from 15 June .
Foreign citizens: Recruitment for all our online programmes opens from 1 November 2022.

Our Bachelor’s degrees take 4 academic years and our Master’s degrees take 2 academic years.
No, you do not need to come on campus; all communication with our students is done electronically. Thesis defense will also take place online.
The learning process takes place at the university’s digital platform Smart LMS.
Entrance tests are also taken online. Entrance exams are different for each programme. They may be in the form of a test or a portfolio competition.
Online higher education is not a barrier to your career, but a boost to its development. HSE’s online programmes are designed with an emphasis on real business cases and on-the-job learning. Interactive, hands-on classes with key industry players allow you to focus on solving current business problems, grow quickly in your profession and build your career while you’re still studying. Many students in online programmes successfully combine their studies at HSE with their jobs.
Our online programmes provide a wide range of communication options with lecturers and fellow students, the programme manager, the academic supervisor and the study office: messengers, emails, live webinars. Many students note that there is much more communication on online programmes than on campus programmes.

I studied the offer thoroughly and I liked MDS better because it includes SQL and a complete course of Mathematical Statistics, which is very relevant for those who haven’t studied Mathematical economics before. Also, their admission campaigns twice a year were quite convenient.
